i am waiting for the one moment that changes everything.

I’m not going to pretend that I know everything about the Occupy Wall Street Movement. I can understand people being upset and frustrated and wanting things to be more fair, and I absolutely respect their right to protest.

But, I think we’re pointing the finger at the wrong people. We need to be blaming the government for allowing the tax loopholes to exist. For allowing people to have money in offshore accounts that can’t be taxed. For not requiring Wall Street to pay tax on 100% of their long-term gains because they aren’t considered profit like short-term gains. These corporations and its employees are, at the end of the day, doing their job. A job that the government and we as citizens have allowed to continue because we’ve elected people into office who don’t want to make comprehensive tax reform, who approved previous tax law that extended these loopholes.

Change isn’t going to come from occupying Wall Street. It’s going to come from tax reform and combating the unemployment rate with new jobs.
